Online Introduction to Meditation
5 Week Course

This five week course will introduce you to Meditation for Wellbeing and take you on a journey through the Five Great Elements to bring balance, wholeness and transformation at physical, energetic, mental, emotional and spiritual levels. Each 90 minute practice will consist of mindful movement meditation, breathwork (pranayama), meditation with mudra and journaling for mapping & integration.

The ancient Samkhya philosophy, Tantra and Ayurveda (the traditional India medicine system) tells us that our bodies and everything in nature is made of a combination of the Great Five Elements: Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space. These are connected to areas of our body and to different aspects of our beings as physical, energy, mental, emotional and spiritual.

Week 1: Earth (Prithv)
Movement meditation, breathwork and meditation with mudra to invoke, explore and embody the qualities of the Earth Element.

Week 2: Water (Apas)
Movement meditation, pranayama and meditation with mudra to invoke, explore and embody the qualities of the Water Element.

​

Week 3: Fire (Agni)
Movement meditation, pranayama and meditation with mudra to invoke, explore and embody the qualities of the Fire Element.

​

Week 4: Air (Vayu)
Movement meditation, pranayama and meditation with mudra to invoke, explore and embody the qualities of the Air Element.

​

Week 5 Space (Akash)
Movement meditation, pranayama and meditation with mudra to invoke, explore and embody the qualities of the Space Element and integration of all the Elements.

The course is open to all abilities, just come as you are! Handouts with an introduction to the philosophy of the Elements will be provided. You will need a mat, cushion or something to sit on, a blanket, a notebook and a pen.
